UC Blinds was founded in 1996 by Ben, who began his career cleaning window blinds before expanding into the supply, installation and manufacture of bespoke blinds. Over the years, the company has grown into one of the region’s trusted specialists in made-to-measure window coverings.
In 2009, Ben’s wife joined the business, helping to expand UC Blinds into the online market and supporting continued growth while maintaining the personal service that has always been at the heart of the company.
Today, Ben continues to carry out many of the home and commercial surveys himself, ensuring customers benefit directly from more than 30 years of hands-on experience in the blinds and window shading industry. As a qualified Smart Solar Shading Adviser, he provides expert guidance on light control, privacy, energy efficiency and solar shading solutions.
Ben is a Director and has served on the Managing Committee for more than 25 years of the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA) who is the Authority on UK Shading. The BBSA is the UK’s leading trade association for blinds, shutters and solar shading products, promoting quality, safety and professional standards across the industry.
In recognition of his exceptional contribution to the UK window shading sector, Ben was inducted into the BBSA Hall of Fame — an honour awarded to individuals who have made a significant impact on the UK shading industry.
